I had to sit in a van for 5 hours recently, so I quickly hunted down GBA games to throw on my flash cart. These are my first reactions, I've probably got some of the titles wrong, so feel free to add or subtract any words like "Advance" or "Super":
Pokemon FireRed: This is for kids!
Sonic Pinball Advance: Decent pinball, two tables: Sonic and Nights. Decent pinball feel.
Pinball of the Dead: Pretty good. Three tables, nice graphics. Mediocre "feel", and I don't think I can get behind the fantasy elements of all the little zombies and supernatural elements that wander the table and such. I like my pinball pinbally.
Pokemon Pinball Advance: Really good. My pinball pick on the GBA I think, due to very solid "feel" (ball has weight, deflects appropriately) and lack of fantasy elements on the table (except for when you have to capture a Pokemon and it wanders the table. Forgivable). Two tables. Very addictive.
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance: Excellent. Looks great and I was torching rats with my wizard's flaming hands while collecting rusty swords in no time. I may finish this.
Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga: 128 MegaBITs?!?! That's my entire flash cart! Rejected.
Astroboy: The Omega Factor: Awesome. Best action game on GBA? Better than Castlevania? Maybe. Great graphics, very versatile and fun gameplay. Punch, kick, finger laser, boot jets, arm blast, and ass-machine-gun smart bombs. Run, jump, fly, beat, shoot, upgrade, giant bosses. You know the drill.
Midway Classic Collection: Great, especially because the 4 games (Joust, Robotron, Sinistar and... Something else) gives you great variety on one cart, plus the quick nature of the games makes it perfect for getting rid of ten minutes.
Namco Museum Volume Whatever: Ms Pacman, Pole Position, Dig Dug, Galaga, Galaxian (?). Also great, same reasons as above.
Activision Classic Collection Whatever: It didn't occur to me until I booted it up that this would be Atari 2600 games. Boxing is the highlight, I guess. I turned it off in a hurry.
Konami Arcade Collection: Awesome, especially due to the higher tier of obscureness. TimePilot, Gyruss, Rush 'n' Attack (aka Green Beret) and Yie-Ar Kung Fu (!!!!!). I think I'm forgetting a game.
Pac Man collection: I love Pac Man but this is too much Pac Man. Pac Man Puzzle and Pac Man 3D especially.
Double Dragon: Just like the arcade! Great.
Worms World Party: I like that it was very fully featured, and though I didn't spend long checking it out, seems very faithful to the PC.
