I read somewhere a valve playtester got lost for an hour in a section where it was go left at a fork to continue or go right and loop back round. They cut this section.

The next section had lots of health packs to make sure the player was at full health for an upcoming fight, they found that playtesters were wasting all their ammo shooting the health packs because they thought they were particularly tough headcrabs.

Apparently they also get these same retards to help test TF2.
