I also noticed Jerry playing NOT GTAIV last night and couldn't make sense of it.
Time to talk about our favourite GTAIV multiplayer moments!: Anytime I was playing Cops'n'Crooks I'd try to ride with the boss so that I could lean out the window and shoot at any cops on our tail. That shit is exactly the "cinematic moment" that developers have tried to put into videogames for years. I'm shooting tires, I'm shooting windshields, I'm trying to pick off dudes on bikes. Like in the movies I'm mostly ineffectual, but it looks fuckawesome and does annoy the cops, making them zig zag and fire back which buys us precious time. I'm serving a greater good while serving my own fantasies. As I type this I realize that I really should be playing Hangman's NOOSE too.
There was also the time where I was a cop and spotted the boss ahead of me. He ran off the road into a crevice to avoid my car grill, so I excitedly pressed the "get out" button which at the speed I was traveling turned out to be more of an "ejector seat" button, especially as the car sideswiped the on-ramp wall. I EuphoriaTM ragdolled 100 feet, down in Liberty City River, while the boss then emerged from hiding, took my car and sped off to victory. :( |
