| The new patch added some dailies to areas. One is in a demon place, where they give you a "fel spark" or something, and you charge it up by killing some fel (nether fel?) fire elementals in the area. If anyone, even alliance, kills one of the fire elementals, it will still give your bomb a charge, so you can actually work together across factions to complete this quest and burn through it really fast. It takes about 5 or 10 and it gets to full power, and then you walk it through a demon teleporter and it explodes and the quest is cleared, and it's actually not too hard and rewarding. Plus it's a novelty in a game where a thousand of the quests are already the same thing over and over.
When this quest was in development, though, one of the devs wanted the spark to explode if you "overcharged" it, causing you to start over again or dump the quest and start over. This dev was of course one of the raid developers. Soon several other devs, following the "new wave" of "the game is long enough now so let's make it actually rewarding" style of WOW development (which is still years behind what MMO development should be at, but they're rich so why should they care?) started yelling at the sock shitter dev, who started yelling back and soon the other sock shitters joined in screaming about how the other devs wanted to make the game "too easy," and insults were thrown like saying they wanted to turn WOW into the Hello Kitty Island/Online(?) Adventure. Soon they were throwing coffee mugs at each other, and a vice president had to come in and yell at everyone, and they all hung their heads and pretended like they would let this go, but secretly inside they would never forgive, and sock shitters stormed out of the office and came up with ways to punish players for this by making new raid instances require even longer attunement quest chains, full of primal farming and epic crafting obscure worthless items, something that would take months for anyone but the 1% of the player base that have done everything but jump through their screens into the game world where they could finally abandon their old life and live for real as the night elf that they are deep inside (much like furries having an "animal spirit" inside them, THEY ARE AN ANTHROPOMORPHIC FOX TRAPPED IN A HUMAN BODY HRN YIFF). In the end, the "new wave" devs got their idea in how they wanted, because I am RIGHT >:(, but still the raid devs will have to stick to designing raids which is their FUCKING job, even though they want to take over development of the entire game and turn the whole thing into a sockshit festival. Eventually the rage will build up between them and lead to real life fighting where people are thrown through cubicles and kneed in the face and have their intestines torn out with staple removers. I just hope this doesn't delay development of Space Marines vs Tau vs Tyranid: Korean Tournament Edition.
