In my experience and knowledge sufficiently similiar methods can yield only a certain range/type of music. For example, in my 'RocK" folder, it's incredibly likely the bands are composed of guitars, drums and a bass. Many times other things are added, but the core method/instumentation is the same. This what I meant. It gets more tricky in electronic music, but similiar divisions can be made using types of programs and synths.

So to answer your question: I'm not sure. Give me an example.
