It's a robot because you tell it to do stuff and it does stuff. Robot = mechanical SLAVE.

The important thing about a robot is that it LOOKS or BEHAVES like a man (or dog or disembodied arm or whatever). This makes it all the sweeter when a robot obeys you. The Drobo looks and behaves like nothing so much as a crate.
