I WANTED to like Portal it but it had already been fucking ruined by PA's misuse of slash and poor depiction of 'best writing' (they depicted the one character in the game that had dialogue). Also, Gabe drew a strip where he had a Little Mermaid poster in his room. Now how in the fuck am I supposed to like Portal after taking that into account?
I showed the game to a friend who had NOT seen the PA comic. They said that they loved it; the puzzles were excellent with multiple solutions (18 was very difficult to solve), the story and robot dialogue were interesting and funny, and that they kept playing to the end even after getting a little bit of a headache from the rapid camera movements. They may even replay it today with Director Commentary! Also, the song during the end credits was catchy.
Unfortunately, I can only take their word for it since PA ruined it for me. Fuck them and their fucking endorsements. TO HELL. |
