The secret is the game within the game: trying to avoid people who are better than you. Really this is a good life skill in general. VF5O's version of the cut throat social jungle is a very simple risk/reward system. You can pick "Quick Match", which scans for a match, and gives you the option of passing on opponents after seeing their records. The downside is higher level players are the ones who create the games you're scanning, on average. Also you'll be in the player 2 position on the right, if that bothers you. Your other option is to create a match yourself, which means anyone can challenge you and you can't veto. On the upside it's almost entirely n00bs who are challenging you via the Quick Match option. N00bs and the odd 1000+ matcher who is padding his record some more. You've gotta take the bad with the good. |
