Looks like you've just answered your own question. Most people know that the screams of an actress pretending to be raped are no more real than the orgasms of a porn starlett, and you don't.
What a totally bizarre analogy. Fake orgasm and fake rape screams are much closer simulations of real orgasms and real rape screams than Vampire Hunter D is of real vampire hunters. In both of your (orgasm, rape) situations, the idea is to present a fake thing as real for the titillation of an audience who is excited by rape or orgasms, and there exists such a thing as a realistic portrayal of either because rape is real and so are orgasms.
Meanwhile, there exists no way to realistically represent vampire hunters or giant muscly head-popping post-holocaust warrior-monks or magical ninjas battling blind super-fast samurai or tender young lesbians flying divinely-ordained fighter jets. Because those things aren't real. It's far away enough from reality that I can enjoy the action and drama without ever worrying that a real vampire hunter has ever been hurt. I mean - it's not even like it's real people dressed up like warrior-monks or lesbian fighter pilots. AND EVEN THEN: I can't watch anime that's too mean. Even with anime, I have limits!
If your point is that I'm an exceptionally - even unreasonably - delicate flower, then fine, I concede. But if your point is that fake realistic rape isn't really popular or, if popular, is popular for reasons other than being titillating to sick fucks, then you're still miles away from any kind of valid argument. You're arguing It's Not Sadistic Because I'm Not Sadistic harder than ever. |
