I think the problem is the opposite. When you're like 13, you can spend up to 150 hours playing Final Fantasy 3, leveling all your guys up to 99, getting every secret, and even teaching Gau every spell with every esper. It doesn't mean that the game justified all that time, only that you were willing to put in all that time. When you get older, ideally your tolerance for that thing goes way down. If it doesn't, bad things happen.
