It's nice that those ABA guys aren't getting jerked around like Pixel Studios!
RE: So random it's generic.
I don't know about you, but my problem with WF is that it's just not random enough. No changing colors, no obscene bullet patterns. Just basic weapons that get lumped on more and more obscenely ultimately resulting in a helluva boss battle. I prefer Bullet Philharmonic Orchestra which takes any song (you might have to convert to OGG, simple enough with Audacity) and provides bullet patterns based on the song. This is great for any type of song, and provides a good dodging work-out.
You have a very simple 'ship' ala rRootage or Noiz2sa, and you're only tasked to dodge the bullet patterns. In my recent revisiting of the game, I've visited the walls of bullets that 'Forced to Masturbate' produces, and enjoyed the quick targeted bursts that 'Stukas Over Disneyland' greets me with. It'd be a milliion times better with a simple browse window (dropping a sound file on the exe, or using the music folder are the only two ways to select songs) or playlist support. It's compatibility issues are confusing at best and it's a shame that the songs need to be converted. Though once you find a few songs that provide patterns you like you'll probably be hooked. |
