Someone decided that, since a small minority of people have different user accounts on a Windows XP install, save games need to go in the user's Shared Documents folder. It's stupid. Anyone who has user accounts on a computer running XP is probably not a serious gamer and/or they have another PC they use to play games with. God forbid this be an option you can toggle. I had heard that setting your game's save system up this way was being pushed by Microsoft, which isn't surprising, as they love catering to the lowest common denominator. Of course, it's stupid and insignificant enough where you feel pedantic saying how dumb the process is on a message forum, but that's PC gaming for you in 2007: a million paper cuts.
