Figured I was clear mine was aesthetic, so I'll assume the same of yours: there are differences between "Radiohead, Tool, Perfect Circle, Matchbox 20, Goo Goo Dolls, Creed" but not really very meaningful ones. The differences are mostly if not entirely more about the listener than the band in question. I guess you could say the last four were a bit more focused on selling records, or a bit less interesting or interested in trying something original, but it wasn't like the first two weren't interested in sales at all, they each did what they could to repeat their past successes.
