Have you ever seen this test performed in different circumstances? by Quentin Beck 06/28/2007, 12:26am PDT
Or is it always performed inside (or outside!) a gym by a group of people passing basketballs in a circle, while a person of average height calmly walks through in a black suit with a monkey mask.

It's on both. I can't say for sure about guns or knives, but when I was attacked by a guy with a hammer, my attention only left his face when he raised the hammer.

Surely, even in wrestling with your brothers you would have picked up on how angry people grimace before they lash out? It would be stupid and unnatural not to look at the angry face of your attacker. It's really, really important to see how they're feeling. Every part of you knows this.

In the basketball circle, my attention was entirely on the basketball. I did not give a fuck what the people in the circle were wearing. You are equating the importance of the angry face of an attacker with the clothing worn by people casually passing a basketball in a circle. Fuck you.
