| It fuckin sucks, it suck and fucks, it fuckin blows.......... and I don't like it.
I would have gone back to AIM, the official fuckin fancy 6.1 version with all the new shit and finally autologging, but it's actually worse. All the AIM clients out there basically suck unless you find the right combination. Right now the least bad one is Pidgin. First off, the name sucks. Psh, more like pig din. It decides that the previous versions of the file transfer interface were just too user friendly, what with it being the normal Windows file selector. They fuckin replaced it (for no reason, no FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ing reason) with their own fuckin piece of shit which is infinitely inferior. If I want to send someone a picture, I can't right click it to open it to see what it actually is, I have to manually go into the folder (using Windows of course, nothing in the program itself helps with any of this) to open the picture and find out if it is the right one. And the actual file chooser is all awkard. It doesn't let you use shortcuts to skip through anything, and has this really weird shitty inferior interface. WOW MICROSOFT PROGRAMS ARE GREAT (BY COMPARISON). What is even more sad is that the latest version of AIM actually fixed the ONLY one previous problem with file transfers, where if you were typing and someone sent you a thing it would fuckin cancel it automatically from your fuckin typing. The latest AIM fixes it by embedding it in the chat window so you can't accidentally do shit by hitting enter or space or anything, it just notifies you without interrupting you. But fuckin piece of shit Pidgin goes right back to fucking this up and making it so it interrupts any incoming things if you're typing. Fuck you pidgin. It doesn't let me edit my buddy list to remove names unless I find the menu option that shows all offline users, and then my list becomes clogged with like 200 people who I haven't even seen in years, just so I can find one fuckin name to delete. FUCK YOU PROGRAM It doesn't let you pick what folder you want to save your autolog files to, and forces you to read them through the built in log reader, which is just a tiny window, when I'd rather open the fuckin file in Firefox you fuckin piece a traysh. And it saves the logs with all this unnecessary header information shit and intending and fuckin effects. When you select text in the chat window, it has this gay effect where it selects the entire section of the window, like you are using DOS in a window and trying to mouse select text and it just selects the entire screen, even parts that aren't text or fuckin anything, and it's like what the fuck the ONLY POSSIBLE purpose for this is to select the line of text from here to here, not the entire fuckin dead space beyond a completed line you fuckin piece a bitch trayush AIM client. The actual icon for Pidgin sucks. It's a cartoony bird head. It seems like a neat concept to make the task bar program icon the current buddy's buddy icon, all smallened (so right now on the taskbar, the icon for the Pidgin chat window is a tiny crying bear face for Kered), but really this is a pointless idea. No one needs this, and it only makes it confusing and inconsistent. Sometimes I'm like, what the fuck is this blue snowflake window? Because it's fsbt's fuckin AIM icon, and I'm like oh, well that was Pidgin's fuckin fault then. Also when someone has sent me an IM and I am talking to someone else, the only notification is that their name in the tab turns red. That's not really good enough. But anyway it's still the best current AIM client. It has a thing for plugins, which can be good, especially if someone makes a plugin to use the normal Windows file browsing thing for sending people pictures or whatever. Maybe they can code in a less gay autologger too. |
