Read. Or, let me sum up:
Through 2011, DirecTV will still hold premium rights to air football. They plan to expand their service, including potentially getting exclusive rights to broadcast extra Saturday and Thursday games. To the 10% of us that have DirecTV, that must be swell. For the rest of us, it means that on some nights, only one pro football game will be played, and you'd better find a bar with DirecTV to enjoy it.
As for the networks: mostly the same, except FINALLY they have the right to switch seven Monday Nighters to hopefully avoid laughably bad MNFs in the latter part of the season. I'll inform you at this point that we have two Cowboys Monday nighters due up and New England at Miami as well. However, nothing on that stupid, pointless stipulation where only CBS or FOX may have a doubleheader on the same Sunday. |
