That feeling is known as "The Call of Juarez". Not only do you have to learn stealth to get your gun so you can learn to shoot, but after being summarily disarmed by the Sheriff (for not concealing your weapon) you have to sneak out of a town gunning for you to get a half hour with Suzie! The game is divided into episodes, and they're used in an attempt to tell the story and create suspense. Sadly, the stealth episodes aren't fun at all.
Once you finally get done with that crap you're given control of a righteously pissed priest who wears a metal breast plate and charged himself with purging the town. You can even read scripture between kills. The combat is really fun, you get a limited bullet time if you attack with your weapons holstered. All the combat finishes up with a duel, which is basically a reaction/aiming/dodging mini-game. After that awesome chapter, you go back to the sneakiest man in the west, various boring elements are introduced, like needing to not be hiding in shadows when lightning strikes, and waiting for a thunderclap to use your whip(no, you can't kill anyone with it) to swing over chasms. It really seems like they'll give you more characters, which may or may not be worse than Billy the Sneaking Kid.
However, it seems like at least half of the game sucks. |
