You guys are way better at depicting genius than I am. I'm way better at being a genius though.
So Dad sent birthday presents (it's my birthday soon, Caltrops! Motherhead already made me a present but what are the rest of you getting me?) Some of them are inarguably good:
1. Wizards, on DVD
2. Heavy Metal, on DVD
3. A big check with "for champagne" written in the memo section
Some of them make me want to ask Caltrops "why does Daddy do these things?"

Seriously, he just visited last month. He could not have missed the library, where I keep the piano and the violins and the mandolin and my ACRES OF ANCIENT AND CLASSIC LITERATURE. It's all Bede and Froissart and dictionaries of foreign languages until you get to the gay porn. In the scriptorum I'm illuminating the complete works of Andrea Dworkin and binding them in the skins of her detractors. And to this house, to this noble plot of land, cut from The Man's own stash, in which there dwelleth beauty, wisdom, serenity, and first-run pressings of Zetsuai 1989 - this home, the Rivendell of Portland, the Tir Na Nog of the west suburbs, where no unholy foot dares to tread - to this place he sends "The Adventures Of Phoebe Zeit-Geist"?
