And then they added blood elves, so a bunch of night elves rerolled blood elves so they could say they've experienced the horde side, and then like most alliance's horde alts, got to the barrens and quit around the time they got sludge fen quests or that godawful catseye emerald. Also they were personally disgusted by the offensive lowbrow orcs who looked dirty and smelled and use axes, and they were used to the alliance side where people wear monocles and are civilized to each other. Also they were offended by the precious precious looooooore of the blood elves doing whatever it is (I don't pay attention because it would require taking the story in this game seriously) and were like I AM GOING BACK TO NIGHT ELVES THEY HAVE PURPLE SKIN WE SHOULD PUT PEOPLE WITH GREEN SKIN IN A BIG PILE AND BURN THEM. Then in the first BG they get into, an orc shaman pops bloodlust and buries an axe in their entire head. And not even their beautiful purple skin can comfort them. Re: Alliance, not Shaman, got Tseric fired 05/18/2007 02:37:11 PM PDT I always wanted my shaman to be able to throw in melee damage with shocks, while being able to fire off off heals in emergencies. You used to be able to do that until molten core, because MC was so incompetently designed. Now, you can't do it past level 60, period. You can cast and that's it. You can melee and that's it. You can heal and that's it. You can't do them all anymore. You used to be able to do all of them at the same time, especially in the earlier levels. Which I still think they should've added quests to actually train you in learning to melee, cast, and heal at the same time. They say the class was a hybrid, and it seems initially designed to be a caster/melee/healer hybrid. I don't want to wear rogue leather to pretend like I'm the greatest DPSer in the game I top all the damage meters even in raids because I'm too busy spamming earth shock to throw a heal when the REAL tanks are dying (hey when they die that means I get a better lead on the damage meter anyway). I went shaman to be a utility class, not a rogue who CAN wear mail but doesn't because there's more +AP and hit on the rogue gear. And I don't want to be a 4th rate priest (being outhealed by mend pet) wearing cloth because of the extra int and heal power stats. I just have a feeling that only one guy designed the shamans to start with. He had to come up with ideas for horde stuff, decided shamans would be a sort of higher DPS lower defense version of a paladin. He went around designing some horde quests and instances. Eventually when the other devs (alliance-only devs) came in to fill in the details to help out the ONE single horde guy, they got all these stupid ideas, like horde quests where you poison animals, or tremor totem not really doing anything right. The horde guy was too busy coming up with Caverns of Time to fix the horde's problems, and they just got left there. Nerf Shaman Casting! 05/17/2007 02:14:54 PM PDT We shouldn't have to think of this stuff for blizzard, blizzard should've already thought of it themselves and put it in the game. There's probably a way to make it so shamans can cast, heal, and melee, all at the same time. God knows I've actually tried it as much as I can in instances, saved a few tanks from low health by cutting off my melee (eating cleaves, ugh) firing off a fast spot heal, and then shooting a flame shock on the MT's target and going back to autoattack. I tried to spec for it, but it just turns out that the game isn't designed to be played that way. They just want me to be resto.
