In that movie the crucial moment comes when they have security camera footage of will smith while the dude they were chasing walks past him and does something completely obscured. So they clean up the image, then using computer magic they ROTATE the image and reveal that, despite the whole thing happening on the opposite side of the camera, that the dude was surreptitiosly slipping a disk into smith's pocket. Of course they're able to see through the crystal clear image that it was their disk.

Then later on, despite their magic, a slumming Gene Hackman is able to nullify all the tracking devices they put on Smith by stuffing them into a crumpled doritos bag.
