1. Running well-oiled year-round campaigns. Turning an entire term into the re-election campaign is smart marketing.
2. Lowering taxes, or more specifically making sure that people know that they are the party for lower taxes.
3. Jesus.
The Democrats need to co-opt #1 and either #2 or #3 if they want to have a chance at fighting for the government majority. Kerry tried and failed at point #2 by talking about taxing the rich and keeping the cuts for the middle class. Class Warfare is so 1990s. |
