| In celebration of our brothers of a different color from another mother, Caltrops presents the first in a planned series of pieces about the state of the negro.
Blacks. They shoot our hoops, hip our hops and bang our gangs. And for one shining month of the year we show our appreciation. But who pays tribute to the journalists, easayists and web-bloggers who pay tribute to the black man? 
Arthur Spingarn, first president of the NAACP. Take Jason Microscopiq, for instance. He has compiled an exhaustive list of all the afro-inspired video game protagonists he could think of off the top of his head. It should come as no surprise to the enlightened reader that, despite some creative bookkeeping with Beyond Good & Evil's racially ambiguous Jade, the list is still shamefully short. Join me in saluting this courageous pundit by penciling-in names on his black-list through an easy-to-use comments section.
