There is a mod for phpBB that does what I want for Youtube videos (in terms of interpreting the [youtube] tag. phpBB is difficult to work with and the amount of blame that the developers cast on everyone but themselves is hilarious, but their auto-mod functionality works well. Er, anyway, it's just a matter of getting a couple hours to write and test it, same as anything else.
