I did not enjoy this film at all, except for Sid!
Maybe it is because I hate Clive Owen? I don't even know why, I just don't. That wasn't enough to stop me liking Sin City though, hm.
I just could not get into Children of Men and disliked it immensely. I then explained to my friend that giving a film you saw less than 2 minutes a 10/10 is a bad idea because you look stupid the next day when you start pointing out faults (cos, you know, 10/10 implies nothing can be better and it's a perfect thing?).
Maybe that was really stupid of me cos it's actually good? I thought he enjoyed it cos he's a media student and therefore has to say he likes every film ever made even if they are terrible, just to piss me off: "Hey guys, X-Men 3 was the best film I have ever seen and if you don't like it because they messed up the characters for seemingly no reason then I will explain to you as if you were a 5 year old why they did it, even if you just told me why they did it yourself. Then, when you come up with a perfect example of how they could have improved a scene I will act like a total cunt and say that if anyone thinks they can do better that I would love to give them the same budget and equipment and everything and ask them to do better. Also, Saw is amazing because "He never actually kills anyone" which I am only mentioning because someone in the film says it, even though strapping a guy in a chair to drill into his brain is killing someone, he didn't actually manage to finish and all he does is put people into situations they can get themselves out of if they try. Also I am a fat fuck."
Man, I'm gonna punch him right in the face next time I see him. |
