The right answer is: princess stuff is really cool, but don't settle for the fucking Disney bullshit. So simple. The point in the story where the dude was all "I saw all these little girls dressed up as princesses... why not sell them prepackaged princess gear?" THAT is the part where it all went to shit, because THAT is the part that took princess-vision away from all the little princesses. Now they can buy it, in the appropriately sanctioned official version, and the existence of the polished product tarnishes forever all homegrown princess dreams.
The problem isn't princessing; it's the existence of a Right Way To Princess.
In a whole article about the anxieties of parenting, gender politics, identity politics, etc. it's super amazing that the dumb cunt didn't pick up on this. |
