Warhammer: Mark of Chaos is good by McMoo shoddy review company 11/30/2006, 2:59pm PST
Nobody will be surprised, but the gamespot reviewer is a fucking moron. Orcs are not part of Chaos >:(

You fight battles with regiments of units. Think Total War without the "Total" part.

The opening intro is almost as good as Dawn of War.

The first campaign has you fighting the TAINT of Chaos with human and elf armies. The second has you TAINTing it up with chaos and skaven (rat-men) armies. Campaigns involve clicking the next point along a set path with the occasional optional mission.

Units and wargear are bought and between most missions.

You have heroes you can attach to regiments. These heroes have skills (passive or active) you can can acquire or improve as they gain levels. Hero skills are divided into three sections, ones that affect the hero only, ones that are only available during duels, and ones that affect both the hero and the attached regiment. Spells and active skills deplete an army-wide pool of mana or whatever that gradually refills.

The duel system becomes active once 2 opposing heroes come within a certain range of one another. I haven't seen much use of dueling within battles. Some optional missions are duels.

Anyway I found single player really fun, i tried using multi just to play skirmishes with the computer and it seems pretty terrible.

More to come.
