Probably due to vehicle respawn time being increased enough that it's not back within seconds of drivers getting killed and respawning back at the back. Makes them give up. Walkers take forever to spawn back (a good thing, bad when some tard grabs it and runs straight into a rorsch/C4/rocket killzone without support).
I've finally decided on my second unlock tree, and I feel extremely liberated. It's like choosing a major in college. Once graduated, I'll get a job as an Associate DEATH CONSULTANT. My second tree is the left engineer path, which is the following unlocks: piece of shit, piece of shit, piece of shit, and then the PILUM HEAVY ANTI-VEHICLE HOWITZER. I'm already good at sniping, and the Pilum is for sniping vehicles.
okay, just to clarify the debate, here's the left side engineer tech tree:
Pilum
vehicle sonar
netbat
defuser
I've got the defuser and netbat unlocked, and can only get to the sonar through field upgrades. After the sonar is chosen, the Pilum will appear in field upgrades but will be greyed out and unchoosable no matter how many more field upgrades I get; once all the upgrades are gotten the entire board is greyed out.
So you've unlocked up to the sonar? Is Bodybag a lying whore saying he can field upgrad up more than one spot and went the entire way up to the Pilum?
The sonar can be useful. Did you know you can slap it to the side of a vehicle? Strap it to a tank and you're driving around with a very effective vehicle killer.
Netbats are pretty useless all round.
The defuser is useless because it does the same job as the zellar, only worse and without the added bonus of killing people. Would be useful and fulfill its intended role if it had something like a 10 meter passive defusing radius when equipped, but as is you have to get right up to the explosive (impossible on titans, the one place it could really come in handy). So you have to get close enough for C4 to kill you in order to defuse it. If you don't die it means the recon guy who planted it is no longer around, making defusing it pointless.
Dogtags are still addictive, even though they don't contribute to my score and I'll often try for a dogtag and get killed rather than take the easy shot. So really they're hurting my game, but I've got 39 and I'm proud.
Go for the collector's badge. Find a densly populated city map where you dont care who wins and spend the whole time knifing. Once you get the bronze badge (worth 20 points), it's not a huge jump to the silver badge (500 points). Do some crazy shit I forget for the gold badge (1000 points).
The amount of co-ordination required to efficiently take down a Titan is well beyond the scope of a public server. My last experiment involved planting the demo packs on a console and then hammering the GO GO GO speech button, combined with a TEAM: BACK UP!!!!!!!!! text message, but all it takes is one guy to not pay attention and you've decreased your score. Once in the core it gets even worse. The last time I used explosives in the Titan I went from 20 points to -5. Now I don't use explosives in the Titan at all, and I blame the game design for bringing me to this position. Not for this site. I don't have the time.
As more people get unlocks, the difficulty in assaulting Titans increases exponentially. More and more games are being decided through missile silos. There are a ton of unlocks that help out titan defense, and around... one that helps out attack (grenade, which also help defense). A support and recon tard camping and spamming explosives is enough to hold down a corridor indefinately against all but a full and cordinated squad.
The actual Pilum projectile should be cooler looking. It's very non-descript, while the Mitchell gets four twisting rockets.
They're so fast you don't get to see them for that long anyway.
I hate the massive inaccuracy of the Rorsch turrets.
Right click?
The recon's stealth camo is the game's biggest let down, due to high expectations . Not really invisible, no weapons while stealthed, plus the need to switch to the camo before engaging, plus a small delay all add up to it being a big waste of time and a waste of a slot. This would make it better: when equipped it's passively engaged whenever you hold shift to run.
I'd really like my 2 unlocks back spent on it >=( |
