No, an unlock is an unlock no matter how shitty or big, and you only get one unlock per rank. The "20 points for grenades" comes from the fact that the first rank up is at 20 points. Now that I think about it, it might be 40 points. It's something really low -- and then the next rank up is at like 60! The first night of playing will get you four ranks.
