Boss story #3

In a conference call with a client, speaking about their $300,000 job, my boss asks "Do you still want to do that additional thing? It's going to cost $100" to which the client deadpans "Yeah... It's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS". My boss quickly recovers with a light joke, "Oh haha, I guess that's the IRISH in me talking". An acceptible thing to say, if the Irish were known for being cheap, and the other 3/4 of her genetic makeup wasn't JEWISH.

Boss story #4

My boss once worked with Wayne. Wayne is a floor director for live shows and broadcast, and too expensive for our company, really, but my boss is in love with his experience. He doesn't answer his e-mail address that we have on file, his phone number is wrong, and his resume in our files is over a year old. This doesn't stop my boss from mentioning him often, everytime she has doubts about our current PA and future floor director. These doubts are unfounded, but that's a story the PA can post later, when she stops having a life and stops being a girl, and starts posting on Caltrops. (When she does post here I'll compliment her on the bold choice of never wearing a bra). So anytime it's brought up that we should give Wayne a call, the receptionist or I point out that we can't, and we already have a floor director for the upcoming events. NEW SCENE: our boss hands the receptionist the weekly personal receipts to be input into the spreadsheet. After going through the usual office supply bills and restaurant cheques, the receptionist reaches the bottom of the pile and finds not a final receipt, but a resume ripped into a 2 inch strip to BLEND IN with the other receipts. "What's this?" she asks our boss.

"Oh, why, it's Wayne's resume! Haha, how did that get there? Oh well, let's just go ahead and enter his phone number and e-mail address into our freelancer database and then we can throw this paper out..."

More like an RA, if the RA was in charge of your schedule too. NT by Fussbett 08/26/2006, 11:13pm PDT NEW
