Alright, I was playing GTA:VC and Far Cry on and off for the last few days and I realized something. A GTA mod for Farcry would ultimately be better than GTA:SA could ever hope to be. So no further ado, I present you with the Farcry mod wrap up.
First a word from Ubi Soft
Ubi Soft wrote:
Far Cry has been hailed as the easiest FPS game to create mods for, with its intuitive map editor and script-based programming interface. Here you'll find frequently updated information on Far Cry mod activity, including in-depth features on the most promising of these efforts. If you're working on a Far Cry mod that's not listed here, be sure to let us know and you'll be added to the list.
So, we should be in store for some hum dingers, right guys?
Let's start with the featured mod. Don't get the idea that's it's done or anything, they are featuring the concept of the mod I guess.
Project Lillith
Aside from sounding like a bottom shelf rip-off of Creex's work, they have some models already made.
AK-47 Uzi Knife Machete Bloody slab of wood with 7 inch titanium nails protruding

Now, I could write a joke about the seven inch titanium nails, but I won't. The knife, uzi, and A to the motherfucking K all look great. I could swear the game already had a machete, but whatever. They actually have a team of people, who are doing shit. They are making models, attempting to script flying vechicles and failing, though they are active. Best part? The game will feature FACTIONS! And the designer wants you, the plebeian non-modding monkey, to give him input!
I was going to do all the mods; but, the majority of the mods in the master list on Ubi's site have either decided to go to HL2, or decided that they want to mod both HL2 and Far Cry at the same time. I was going to do all the mods on Ubi's site; but, it's too fucking barren. Nothing like GTA3 exists at this point.
Here are the few with any decent work done on them.
Citizen-132
Far Gate
Hydro Racers
Oh, if you were wondering, I just have learned the <li> command thanks for Ubi's site. |
