Here.
Preseason practices reveal only so much, but quarterback Alex Smith exudes confidence, unleashing pinpoint passes
. . . into the back of his head. (He did this twice last year.)
Thankfully, QBs are never responsible for sucking. It's their teams that always let them down:
Perhaps Smith realized that even Dan Marino would have floundered in his rookie season if forced to perform with this supporting cast.
Smith's psyche is important as he gets a fresh start under offensive coordinator Norv Turner.
Hahaha Norv Turner.
Coach Mike Nolan spent part of the morning practice having his players simulate sprinting out a tunnel before kickoff. Nolan was persnickety about where each player stood and how he trotted onto the field. I doubt many, if any, coaches put so much effort during preseason into the pregame stuff.
Wow. Just . . . wow. Coach and writer combine for the dumbest thing I'll read outside of HGB's LJ guy.
ICJ, I have an awesome .gif file of Alex Smith in action that I'd like to upload. It also features ridiculously bad blocking. It's like the Buccanneers from the 70s or something. |
