If you don't know whether to get a video iPod or a PSP, and your deciding factor is "will I be reading a lot of books on this?"
Holy shit, worst demographic mixup ever. Even the crazy guy at the DMV knew I wasn't a book-reader. That was probably his LAST guess.
So people are really reading eBooks? Buying devices based on what the best way to read an eBook is? And then using them, for that?
Yeah. A lot. It's great for all kinds of occasional reading: after waking up screaming in the middle of the night, my comfortable little handheld is always there to tell me a beddy-bye tale - no booklight needed and no wrist fatigue, either. Rather than lug half a shelf of books with me on trips and to places where I know I'll be waiting: voila, a library on an SD card. Go on, ask me if it's perfect for the morning poo. I'll answer: I was just leafing through Burke on the john this AM! No more embarrassing porn left on the counter, too. Not as clumsy as those book covers you slip on naughty paperbacks and no more hiding my Wittgenstein when taking public transportation!
The caveat: you can get a Palm suitable for reading books on for like $40 used. It doesn't take a lot. A $300 gadget is overkill. The video playback makes up for that, though. Do you want to know what I was watching on the can this AM?
