If I were gonna write fan fiction for Half-life by laudablepuss 07/05/2006, 3:12pm PDT
I'd probably have a guy saying smart things about headcrabs and how they're really just huge sea spider embryos.

A guy who needs to get out more wrote:

A couple of charming facts about pycnogonid child-rearing: It's the father who's in charge of tending to the embryos, and my favorite detail of all, the larvae consist of just the primitive head of the animal—no thorax, no abdomen, no legs. Just a head. The appendages in the drawing on the left are all the head appendages, and only later as it matures does the larva sprout a body. I think that is so cute.


Then I'd have a character meet a mature headcrab -- a giant one of these things on the right.



Then I'd have that character die horribly. Other than that, my fanfic would probably suck. But that part would be really cool.
