I'm very interested, but if there's one thing I've noticed about Molydlkasdfkfjhslkjvhx games, they have great attention to little cute details, but only ONE CORRECT WAY to do everything. Perhaps this is less dire in an action/RPG than a strategy game.
Your guess is right, the CORRECT WAY to play Fable is definitely with a sword, a little magic and arrows, plus good intentions. I had to go out of my way to craft my awesome dark ranger, and though the some early missions were very difficult for my bow, I found the later parts of the game even easier than with God, my first character. This could be attributed to putting in 20 hours of Fable by then, but I suspect it was the 1000 points of damage I was doing to monsters from miles away.
I found many new things the second time through, and especially appreciated the difference being evil makes, even if it was only cosmetic. Cosmetic counts in video games.
Here's me leading my band of theives (to the Skorm chapel where I they'll get sacrificed to my dark god) as I lean on the "air guitar" emote. As you can see I went for a bald King Diamond sort of look. This is also because my girlfriend had no part of this character, so I was able to get downright childish. |
