Tried to poke holes in his matrix, couldn't. by Archie-Mobius DeBunker 06/09/2006, 12:03am PDT
Link was in Soul Calibur II, and as you can see Bault has connected the SC-verse to Hyrule by way of a black line to be explained later. Link was also in Smash Brothers with Mario, but Bault thought of that too and established a blue-line portal from Hyrule to the Mushroom Kingdom, which in turn links up to alternate-Brooklyn via a magic pipeworks. Bault makes it clear that Donkey Kong's home, the Kongo Jungle, is somewhere on that same alternate Earth, which explains his encounter with Mario way back in the original DK arcade game.

He doesn't include every location I would have liked, but he has left plenty of white space. If one were so inclined it would be pretty easy to incorporate, say, Mortal Kombat's Outworld (northeast of Earth), or even go all-out and lay the framework for Megaman's appearance in Marvel vs. Capcom 2 by sprawling the Marvel/DC-verses all over the map's southeast quadrant.

Some might regard his choice to leave out the setting of Star Trek as an omission. They clearly misunderstand the scope of this map, as Star Trek takes place in our own Earth's future, which would place it roughly two and a half centuries beyond your terminal's display screen!
