The story with the VCR and DVD player from last year was odd, because it was after a giant brownout where the power was going out then coming back on and our computers were shutting off and on several times within the timespan of 5 seconds clicking each time. Then there was a brownout with the lights for about an entire day. Afterwards, every time I'd try to play a DVD on the DVD player it would get stuck in that mode where it would like intentionally blur the picture when it thinks you're trying to tape off the DVD player. The VCR was destroyed because a tape was in there when the power went out, and when it all came back on, it wouldn't eject. This is pretty routine for the summer for the past several years.
My monitor just started doing the same squealing sound, but on a smaller scale. Strangely it seems to do it when the other monitor is plugged in all the way out in the kitchen. |
