No, no! They are quite good! There was some MAME tutorials going around on Digg recently (yeah, I know) but MAME should be pretty easy to get and install, tempest.zip (containing the ROMs for Tempest) almost as easy. But let me know if you cannot find it and I will post it. All of the vector games from that era play really well.
