But Ultraviolet is beyond terrible. You all probably already knew that just from the previews. I was dumb enough to watch it. Bullet points:
Bad
Complete lack of drama.
Terrible action scenes. The action scenes became so boring that eventually they all started happening off camera, as if the director and the actors had gotten tired of them, too.
Incomprehensible plot. Or maybe it'd be comprehensible if I wasn't bored to the point of somnolence.
SPOILER ALERT! The final fight scene was a sword fight IN THE DARK. With copious amounts of no drama, of course.
An annoying kid.
The possibility of a sequel.
Good: Still better than Wing Commander and D&D, although just barely.
Milla Jovanovich's midrif.
Aeon Flux was more stylish and Equilibrium was better executed in every way. This movie made me wonder why I haven't bought Equilibrium on DVD yet. Thanks, Ultraviolet.
I gather from the opening credits that this was a mediocre comic book before it became a truly horrible movie. Are the fans of that comic happy with the big screen rendition? Just curious to know if anyone in the world likes this movie. |
