To a point. A holed up longbowmen can heavily wound or even kill an attacking rifleman, providing the attacker doesn't bother to soften the target up. But even the hardiest longbowman isn't going to hold up to a helicopter or tank. The odds will usually be 100% there. I've seen it hit 130% before.
A warrior will never, ever beat mechanized infantry.
Use siege units to bombard, then have them attack directly. No matter the outcome, every attack by a siege unit will inflict collateral damage to multiple defending units, up to one-half of their total health. |
