I like reality TV, but it's pretty easy to get sick of the Survivor formula so I haven't watched for a while. It seems that I might be in the mood to return from my Survivor exile (HAHA) and get into this season; EXILE ISLAND. Already I'm laughing because the teams are broken into 4 divisions: young men, old men, young women, old women. Immediately the groups slip right into their stereotypes. The young women shopping for campsites without decision, the young men playing some coconut baseball and not even worrying about building a shelter. Right away a 35-year-old woman is shocked to realize that she's in the "older" women tribe. "I thought I was young", asys Cirie, who apparently hasn't watched TV ever, and doesn't know that the age of TV-old is 28.
OR IS IT?
I looked at the Survivor 12 website and checked out the profiles, to discover this awesome tidbit:
31-YEARS-OLD, YOUNG WOMEN TRIBE
 |
32-YEARS-OLD, OLD WOMEN TRIBE
 |
...so I might watch the entire season just to see if the woman on the right ever discovers that the older women tribe is TV euphamism for "old, ugly or fat".
While at the Survivor 12 website, don't forget to check out the Survivors' favourite videogames. Dan the 52-year-old retired astronaut likes Starcraft. |
