| My mom always buys the Time magazine Year-in-Review edition, I suspect mostly because she likes reading them 10 or 20 years later. It's like a magazine savings bond. So I'm flipping through it, and it's interesting enough, and then I get to a famous quotes page. "Like omigod, I have to tell the maid to buy diapers and get the pool boy to walk the dog? Can't I just make out with Kevin all the time? Being married sucks." -- Brtiney Spears to Allure magazine.
Seeing as it's the most hilarious self-parodying quote I've ever read I assumed I've read it incorrectly. After confirming the words by reading it twice or even thrice more, I hit the internet to see more of this awesome Allure interview. My very first Google search showed me that it was a parody interview, picked up and instantly retracted by the news outlets. Back in March! What else am I going to see in Time magazine, a story about how you shouldn't eat pop rocks and Coke? In other horrifying news, the city of Los Angeles is suing Take Two for a share of the profits of San Andreas. http://news.com.com/LA+sues+maker+of+Grand+Theft+Auto/2100-1043_3-6032169.html The civil suit seeks a portion of the company's profits from sales of the game, in addition to fines. It's part of an ongoing investigation by LA into the marketing of video games. They're looking into the marketing of video games. A guy takes home a stack of magazines every night and flips through the ads. "Suck it WHAT?! WHAT it down?!??!" |
