So I bought the 2-game set and my time is more important to me than the $5 that went towards #2. I've heard both that Fallout 2 is Fallout 1 with more stuff and no time limit. I've also heard that Fallout 2 dies the death of a thousand lame Monty Python References.
WHATS THE REAL STORY???
Is the second game already patched in that bundle? If not, GET IT. Without the patch you run into a ton of glitches, the most aggrivating being the infamous car bug where your car would glitch out, along with all the items you stored in it.
More stuff and no time limit pretty much sums it up. The only mony python references I remember were 2 rare random encounters, one with a bunch of brotherhood of steel knights looking for the holy hand grenade, and another recreating the bridge of death scene.
My only complaint was the end. I spend a shitload of time building up my 4 npc party members, getting them all the best equipment possible in preparation for assaulting the final stronghold, only to find out that you get instantly raped at the last level unless you go in alone disguised in special power armor. When I tried going in with a party, my big huge heavy weapon toting mutant (who can't wear armor) got killed instantly by an automated turret, and then I had the entire base with its overwhelming number of guards breathing down on me. |
