So Steam, the safeguard against cheating and piracy, saviour of the industry, has pirate copies of Counter-Strike Source PLAYABLE ONLINE within the first week. I mean, I don't think you can even play Battlefield 1942 online with the pirate copies to this day. You can forget about Command and Conquer Generals too.
Anytime you see a player called "EMPORiO", that's a guy who just started up his pirate copy and forgot to change his player name. Since yesterday every game I've played in has had one EMPORiO in the mix at some point. There is internal debate as to whether or not the SERVERS I was playing on were cracked servers, but I think that would be a hell of a coincidence -- and it would also mean that cracked servers are picked up by the Steam server finder, which is crazy too. |
