A weak ending leaves a bad taste in your mouth, but hopefully you'll remember the many good minutes. Be also warned that the many good minutes are about being a marine and waiting to fight in Desert Storm and not actually fighting, so a lot of people expecting a war movie are disappointed that they get a movie about actual war, which I hear can be really boring. Especially fun for me was seeing the sniper training, as brief as it was.

Aside from the ending, we see that it's hard to do a drill instructor screaming scene in a movie without ripping off Full Metal Jacket. Finally, I disliked the use of Nirvana's "Something in the Way", which was released well after Desert Shield.

Off the screen, a Desert Passive Aggression was brewing one seat away from me. I ejected my spent popcorn cartridge onto the folded-up seat to my right. Later, the guy beside that seat picked up my empty bag and held it out in front of him by two fingernails, like it was a shit filled diaper. After hovering it there and failing to get my eye contact, he ceremoniously dropped it. Apparently his girlfriend's purse was buried in the cushion, below my popcorn bag. Haha, fag. Later he made a big production out of SIGHING when the girl behind him talked loudly. If anyone invades his Kuwaiti border, he'll retreat instantly.
