Never try to outsmart Valve's on-a-rail gameplay with physics. Yes, you could easily scale that chain-link fence in the courtyard with a few crates, and those breakable windows on the outside of the church might appear wide enough to slip thorugh, but That's Not The Way You're Supposed To Do It.
