There's a huge knight that has a shotgun and he uses it to blast tons of people into the air. The game will suck anyway, though, because Dynasty Warriors sucks and will never be fun until you put everything in some kind of city where you can throw a bus or a statue or a tree trunk into five hundred people, ragdolling them all and leaving them crawling and writhing and screaming that you are so incredbly awesome while on the ground. 99 nights won't have this, but it will have stupid boss battles and boring, repetetive horde-killing.
Now let's talk about the warriors! Yeah! It's great! It's a 3D brawler that you play with a friend that is better than Spike Out could ever hope to be, and you grab people and your friend walks up to them and carve them up with a machete or whack them in the head with a sledgehammer. That means it's real co-op! Being that it's made by rockstar, the levels are all kind of open and you run around in them and maim and rob and do mission objectives.
The voice acting and the story seems like it's written by a sociopathic team of die-hard warriors-fans, or maybe even the guys who wrote the script for the movie. I don't even know, that's how good it is. You fucking queers! Then a cross-body slam into five mimes from soho. Exactly.
The combat in the game actually manages to feel dirty, thanks to all the stumbling knockouts and delightfully brutal bricks to the face. Running from cops is fun because you won't have to: the stealth system from manhunt is layered on top of everything and is something you use because it looks cool or because you got jumped by some cops while low on health. A couple of times I've ran from cops, scaling the side of a building, then turned around on top and grabbed the first cop to follow me only to fling him off the roof and through the windows of the store on the other side of the street. Then some running, because his friends are pissed.
All in all, awesome 3D brawler that fixes the genre with great targeting and an excellent pacing as to just how much punishment enemies can take. Suitably deep fighting system that feels more brutal than any other game before it. Long, fun, some shitty boss fights. Bad save system. Awesome style. That's it. If they implement this hand to hand combat into GTA4, like Rockstar has a tradition for doing with their mechanics, well then then then :)
