Melancholy and beautiful, the game ends the way it played in a cryptic and never quite satisfying ordeal. Suffice to say, I loved it.
Things to do once beating it?
Well, there are time attack and hard modes. Oh and a time attack HARD mode. Both net you items that are more than cosmetic adjustments. Weapons and magic masks and cloaks, oh my!
A nice touch is that if you should have an ICO save on your memory card? Well the horse in the game has a dot on it's forehead, a white patch shaped like a diamond. With a save from ICO it becomes an I in the same font. This I didn't quite notice till the end cut scene. Observent me.
Try sneaking up on dah animals and grabbing hold. You'll be surpris-ed.
P.S. As for crates? I remember tugging the waif around, lots of jumping up and down and up and down and wooops, there's a chain and up and down, windmill and up and down and tug and bitch, you know you can jump higher than that and up and down. In the beginning there were a few blocks, but...
Fuck you, it's been three fucking years since I beat the game.
Did MM find the super-secret fucking mace? Ooops, spoiler. Don't you dare shake a tree, find the rock that falls from said tree and use it to play basketball. I hear in the UK version their mace is a lightsaber.
