Ork Stormboyz armor changed from Infantry High to Heavy Medium. Ork Stormboyz should now be a much better counter to Warp Spiders.

Yes. All Eldar had to do against orks was build nothing but warpspiders. Utterly impossible to counter. This was a huge problem from day 1, yet the seer council got all the attention for three goddamn patches.

Too bad for every thing they fix in a patch, they break three.

Reduced the train time of the Space Marine Dreadnought to 50 seconds

Terrible. Stupid.


Haha. Dreadnaughts already dominated early-mid game units. Marine players knew to build nothing else. They were already overpowered by taking up only 2 population.


The recharge for Orbital Bombardment was reduced to 195 seconds (down from 240)

Oh my God! What the fuck are they doing? STOP HELPING THE SPACE MARINES.



Eldar exploits aside, space marines are by far the best army in the game. They have the most versatile deadly en masse infantry in the game, they have the best vehicles, and the strongest late game. Orbital bombardment was ridiculous and easily made up for not having a super demon unit (though they still got terminators, land raiders, and orbital drop, any one of which already made up for not having a super unit), now they reduce the charge time by 20%? Not that it really matters, since any decent player knows he can just level half your base with an orbital dropped commander, hit delete to kill him off, then train another who'll come out of the barracks with a fresh bombardment ready to go in less time than it'd take to recharge it naturally. I guess this is their way of getting rid of that exploit??? Retarded. They should just go ahead and allow assault terminators to be orbitally dropped as long as they're wrecking the game.


Guardian damage reduced by 5%

Whew, I was worried about the Guardians being too effective. Good work guys.


Okay, this is starting to read like some sarcastic joke thread about balance. What's next, improving possessed marines? Nerfing pink horrors? The only useful thing about guardians was the old bug that caused them to use 3 plasma grenades at once. Once they fixed that, they were useless aside from very early spawn capture. Nobody uses them after that. They were OKAY if your enemy was a chaos possessed marine spammer since a guardian warlock could immobilize infantry, but didn't they also weaken or flat out eliminate that ability?


Increased Defiler cost to 190 requisition 400 power
Increased Defiler build time to 60 seconds

This is good. Slow the inevitable 10 defiler onslaught somewhat.


Defilers are good, but dreadnaughts are better. Weakening the former while strengthening the latter makes no sense.


Eh, whatever. Like I said, most people have long ago dropped this game. I still play it occasionally though, so I'll give this latest patch a try. I'm considering reloading it and going back to 1.2 though. It was somewhat less broken back then, perhaps.


Try the patch that installs C&C Generals instead.
