Being able to hit what's under my crosshair is a big benifit missing from this game (and no need to unlock a slightly more accurate weapon). The ONLY reason I might play BF2 again anytime in the next 2 months is to try out one of my favorite bf1942 classic maps, Wake Island.
Additionally Nam was still headed in the right direction by allowing people on foot to have some kind of a chance against vehicles, which apparently the fuckdouche asseaters from Desert Wom(an)bat decided to erase.
Tanks were woefully underpowered in BF:Nam, and trying to man any sort of vehicle mounted machinegun was a death sentence since you'd get picked off instantly and all mounted machineguns were crap that couldn't kill anything. All 3 problems have been solved in BF2. The only problems with the game are holdouts from BF:Nam, mainly that helicopters were too powerful (which has been partially fixed now) and the only thing that can shoot down jets is another jet (although in BF2 at least I can fly my jet more than 3 seconds in a straight line without falling off the map and dying). |
