Fussbett (4:40:31 PM): I'm doubting how "out of control" this fire really is, if you're running from it for the entire mod (which includes a shoot out and ethical dillema)

Fussbett (4:41:58 PM): You should totally recruit a mod team. You shouldn't pay anything though.
Fussbett (4:42:05 PM): Just try to get like-minded bored dudes.
Fussbett (4:42:28 PM): But think of your smallest idea and then cut that in half and then use THAT idea.
Juh-howh Cable (4:42:38 PM): A mod where you can dynamically put out fires might be cool as long as they don't use it as a crutch like in Doom 3.

Juh-howh Cable (4:43:09 PM): Which became uh fuckin Infestation or Extermination or Headcrab Hunt or whatever. :(
Juh-howh Cable (4:44:03 PM): After the citadel explodes or whatever, some human survivors try to retake Ravenholm which means a massive clearing effort to hunt down all the headcrabs and their nests. O_O
Juh-howh Cable (4:44:17 PM): And then there's like a money system where you are paid in headcrabs which can be used as food for survivors. ~_~
Fussbett (4:44:34 PM): That's not bad.
Fussbett (4:44:43 PM): Good that you're re-using assets.
Juh-howh Cable (4:44:48 PM): So basically every headcrab you kill, you put into a wheelbarrow or a truck bed and you can take it back to a safe zone for "money" to buy better weapons.
Fussbett (4:45:16 PM): I like it.
Juh-howh Cable (4:45:30 PM): And you can do this just at will or you can do it on official missions like clear out these houses or go retrieve blah blah from this house in Ravenholm or find this underground crazy nest like in Aliens and blow it all up, or go to this and this area and kill at least 100 headcrabs.
Juh-howh Cable (4:45:44 PM): And you would have persistant teammates of other BABES who have specialties like medic and ammo and explosives.
Fussbett (4:45:48 PM): Hmmm.. you might be losing me!

Juh-howh Cable (4:46:05 PM): Well you can do missions or you can just run around killing the headcrabs.
Juh-howh Cable (4:46:27 PM): But eventually there would be a point where you have to do a nest clearing and kill a Big Momma headcrab boss or whatever.
Juh-howh Cable (4:47:13 PM): I even worked out an entire food system for the headcrabs, like normal headcrabs have a lot of parts that can be eaten, and people would only want the legs of a poison headcrab.
Fussbett (4:47:21 PM): I wouldn't mind dynamic RPG style missions

Juh-howh Cable (4:48:44 PM): And there would be drivable vehicles, but mostly a junky ass car and a junky ass truck which were converted with some kind of hydrogen powered engine, so you'd see water distilling plants nearby and shit which are for drinkable water and fuel which you would need to gas up your car every so oftten maybe.

Juh-howh Cable (4:49:46 PM): You'd just have your one safe zone, that's one loading area, and that splits off into two paths which have mission zones, so that would be two more maps, and then a few more maps for different areas deeper into ravenholm.
Fussbett (4:49:48 PM): You can always add stuff as your mod starts to take shape.
Juh-howh Cable (4:49:56 PM): I think a minimap might be necessary.

Juh-howh Cable (4:51:01 PM): Maybe you don't even need to pick up headcrabs and put them in anything to get the money, you just kill a headcrab and it disappears or one of your teammates picks it up and it counts as like a headcrab dollar.

Fussbett (4:51:16 PM): Well it would be good to revisit some areas already in Ravenholm from HL2

Juh-howh Cable (4:51:47 PM): But no climbing around, because you need your teammates to follow you.
Fussbett (4:51:57 PM): Or like teammates drive around an AI truck behind you and collect the crabs

Juh-howh Cable (4:52:28 PM): I think all you'd really need to do is occasionally walk back to the safe zone, it makes the entire game and the amount of area and maps and mapping smaller.
Fussbett (4:52:31 PM): And sometimes they have to wait for you as you rummaage through a house.
Fussbett (4:52:42 PM): Walking back to a safe zone sucks though.
Juh-howh Cable (4:52:43 PM): As long as we have a lot of going back and forth quests it can stretch out the length of the game without having to make the areas bigger. :(
Juh-howh Cable (4:52:58 PM): Well the safe zone would have the shop where you can get your ammo and weapons and armor.
Fussbett (4:53:28 PM): I know, but it sucks to go back, unless it's like a "go home" button and the screen fades to black.
Juh-howh Cable (4:53:29 PM): Hey we could also put gonomes in that throw projectiles, just like in Opposing Force.

Juh-howh Cable (4:53:51 PM): But then again it could be done so that there's never any huge distance back to the base.
Fussbett (4:54:17 PM): But that limits the "Ooh, I'm exploring deep into Ravenholm" feeling.
Juh-howh Cable (4:54:31 PM): There could be trucks in further away maps, and you just go up to the truck and hit use and it takes you back to base instantly.
Fussbett (4:54:41 PM): We'll have to ruminate on this some more.

Juh-howh Cable (4:56:52 PM): So the maps may change after certain special missions.
Juh-howh Cable (4:57:24 PM): Especially when it is up to your team to blow up some of the old barricades to open up Ravenholm.
Juh-howh Cable (4:58:58 PM): I don't think anyone would ever do this though. :(
